They forgot to stamp his hand when we went to Chuck E Cheese yesterday...we had to show a picture of him without the same outfit on that he was wearing to the party...guess who whipped out a picture I had taken that morning...Thank heavens we got to take him home...he's not quite ready for pizza.

The Quilt Guild meeting was at the store tonight so it already was a late night. As soon as I got home and was puttsing around the house, the wind picked up and I decided to move the car into the carport. Thank heavens I did...a big storm came through...in fact I moved stuff out of the closet, got the phones and the computer close by and listened as the hail beat down. Just as I thought the worst was over the sirens started going off and the wind picked up even worse. All is quiet now. Here is a picture from the backyard. Hope Arlington didn't get as much as we did. We'll see tomorrow. the hail and wind outside.

Three projects completed

It's nearly Christmas in August at the store...so here are a couple of projects I have completed and also a bag I made for Mary Elizabeth to hold Henry's items as they go off to visit family.

This first one is titled...'and to all a good night' with Santa and his reindeer flying through the air. I got the window, which works perfectly with my embroidery, last month at Canton...love it.

This lil' turkey is titled...'Who Me?' I'll try to add...'Ho, ho the mistletoe' and 'All bundled up' at another time...patterns from Little Quilts2.

And this is a charm party tote using fabrics left over from the quilt Diane and I made for Henry. I am hoping Mary Elizabeth will send me a picture since I forgot to take one before I gave it to her.

Eric had the girls this wkend so they came up to visit the family. I was only able to visit with them a bit on Sunday morning before they headed back home. Funny story, since they are in-between houses, I had a VCR I wasn't using and some tapes that I sent home with Eric to entertain the girls in the little apt. Eric called me up as soon as he got home, and asked what kind of joke I was trying to pull. I sent a DVD player and VCR tapes...I could hear Evie screaming in the background...where's my movie...it broke my heart.
Alex had just returned from his six wks in Singapore...Tate kept saying, 'Bubba, you really came back...I am so happy.'

The kids were here from TN this past week for spring break and were able to play, visit, celebrate Bubba's 40th, golf, bowl, shop, sew and just have a great time. Yes, we had snow today. There was twice as must snow when I got home but I was too busy putting the car in the carport and then the electricity had been out and only been back on for a hour and a half...so happy...and then the TV satellite is out...but all is well and I am all snug in the house now...schools are closed tomorrow so we'll see if work is. Oh, how I love Christmas. The girl's arrived Sunday morning dressed nice and cozy because it was freezing outside and not much warmer inside.

They went right for the toy closet and pulled everything out.
That night we bundled up to go look at Christmas lights. Baby it's cold outside.

Wonder what Granmommy has in her stash? Cap, gloves...

The next couple of days we stayed home...too cold to get out and everyone was pretty much run down...but we had lots of fun waiting for Santa.

Look the Christmas cactus bloomed ontime...I don't know how it does it.

Christmas Eve we packed up everything (except my camera) and went to the cousin's...yes, we left a note letting Santa know where we were.

This year for the first time, I got to go to the Christmas party. I had heard about this home for many years and now I have seen it...I have miles to go before my house is this 'fab'...more is better. Since ML couldn't go, I am posting for her.

Love the shutters, think I will do this in my bedroom...now I just need a trip to Canton to find them.

And last but not least, we had the ever so popular gift exchange, and the boss sported one of the bows after unwrapping her gift. (Of course the gift was stolen, so she had to relinquish the bow.)

That night we went up to Santa's village. It was the first time we had been up there while Santa was able to visit too. Normally we go right after Thanksgiving when they are setting up and we have the whole place to ourselves.

Had lunch the other day at my favorite restaurant...yes, Luna de Noche on Jupiter...and as I was leaving I noticed how beautiful their planters were...so I asked Oscar who did them and he gave me the info. Yesterday when I got home, my planters were filled, including the new one I put under the kitchen window. They are gorgeous.

After the hospital I went to Arlington to go 'trick or treating' with the boys. Here we have Obe-Wan Kenobi.

Miss Butterfly, Yoda, Obe-Wan, and Darth Vadar.
The local 'plumber ' joined us. Yoda had so much candy he could barely walk...he had to drag it along behind him. Everybody had a great time. Thanks, Kyle for helping....

Halloween 2008

Started off the day taking pictures around the neighborhood so I could show Cole. The first one was a home on Beltline that has a huge side yard. There were tombstones everywhere with vultures, bones, and bodies hanging from the trees...it was really cool. Maybe next year I will be able to see it at night.

Cole's trip to the hospital caused quite a stir. There has been a steady stream of family and friends coming and going.

Kelly and 'the boys' flew in from California. While at Brian's folks house one afternoon before going to the hospital, I snapped a few pictures. Notice the Christmas decorations and it's only October...no this isn't my house.

Things are much better with Cole so Kelly and Brian dropped in to say goodbye before heading back home.

Yes, my house has been ready for Halloween since Sept 1...I never know when one of the kids will be here and that be their only trip. Since one of you can't come see me, and I had so much fun at your house, thought I would add a few pictures so you would feel like you got to drop by.

Ms B came over last night and suggested I make a seasonal sign to blend in with the rest of the Halloweeny stuff so I made a "Welcome" sign for above the window...wonder what I can spell out in seven letters for Christmas...oh, I know, "Holiday".

Thanks to Peter...I am here in Tennessee (again)...thanks to Diane...I am now blogging. My pictures may be out of sort as I start with where I am now, but will probably add some from earlier in the summer later since I have been all over the place in the past two and a half months.

So happy this morning as we were getting ready to take Lilli to school, I couldn't resist taking pictures.
Since Halloween is just around the corner and my house has been decorated since the first of September, of course, we had to do the Durand house while was here...Peter loves it when the house has been 'Marmified'

We made the pillows and actually the girl's have matching pj bottoms and matching 'trick or treat bags'...going to take them to Meg and have her monogram them.
